Mendoza (Lujan de Cuyo) garagist & traditionalist. Very nice cabernet made in an understated style. Great texture & minerality. Signed bottle brought home to me by my sister.

Our final bottle in the case of 2006 Carmelo Patti’s legendary Cabernet. Drinking to celebrate a huge savings milestone for us that we’ve been working towards for a couple years.

This guy is a well-known garagiste in Argentina. He buys his grapes very selectively and makes his wine in a combination of cement tanks, oak barrels and bottle aging. The result is really great. A tannic but well balanced cabernet sauvignon with a somewhat earthy and spicy quality followed by a total punch to the gut of dark fruit.
