Wein-Erbhof Stein Blue Slate Dry Riesling 2013
Ulli Stein works tirelessly in his vineyards to craft deeply complex, honest wines. From un-grafted, 80-year-old vines planted on the famed steep blue slate slopes perched above Germany's Mosel River. This dry Riesling is a testament to the insane value to be found in this region, one that is part of the backbone of our shop. Once opened, this wine always continues to develop beautifully in bottle. In case you don't finish the whole wine on day 1 (nearly impossible), you will be amazed at its evolution.

Expected a clear, dry Riesling. Was surprised at the color when I poured it. I didn’t notice it was a 2013 when I recently got it. Over ripe fruit and a bit of funk. Past time.
