Starts out meaty and funky then, with a little air, transforms into a much more vibrant and floral wine, showcasing the black fruit and pepper. Such a great wine!

O. M. G. The real deal Cote Rotie. Stephan knows his stuff. A traditional baseline CR with some eccentric savory elements. Still the perfect pairing with lamb chops.

Rustic with a hefty dose of cellar funk, but also breathtaking, heady aromatics of violets. Rich core of black fruit. It hits those bass notes. A very complete wine, and it resolved itself quite nicely after a couple hours in the decanter, turning the tannins from grippy to silky. Not a squeaky-clean, soulless Côte Rotie, to be sure. A new favorite producer for me.
