No decant needed. Raspberries and raspberry leaf, blackberry syrup, cocao, bing cherry cinnamon fine tannins. Finesse. Beautiful.

This bottle was giving me all the feels. Balanced elegance. Drinking gorgeously.

Amazingly pure and rich. Spiced black fruit and dash of coffee on the nose. Layered and complex on the palate. Crushed rock, tart black cherries and a wave of mint. Tannins are present but complement the total body of work. Mid palate I get a taste of grilled herbs maybe a little eucalyptus. Finish, tar and cedar are shining, Will age wonderfully for another 7-12 years to give the tannins time to mellow out.

I tasted through several Corison Napa Valley Cabernets with legendary winemaker, Cathy Corison and fellow wine writers Elaine Brown and Meg Houston Maker. 2012 was the youngest vintage we sampled, as expected it's quite youthful and fresh. Saturating aromas of black cherries, steeped blackberries, violets, and incense. In the mouth the fruit is plump, as is typical of the 2012 vintage, but this element is nicely balanced. It has the structure and stuffing to age, with lovely hints of baking spice and black pepper on the finish.

So good. Fresh fruit of a young wine with layers of complexity. Dusty minerality and perfectly balanced structure. Can't wait to see where this goes in a few years.

Cathy continues to quietly make some of the prettiest and most regal Cabernet in Napa. Fantastic now with more fruit than most baby corison and built for decades

No perceptible pyrazine and incredibly ripe tannin, almost uncharacteristic for producer. That being said, the high toned floral, iron, and cool touch of black fruit always comes out in these wines to me. I usually find some more acid presence on the palate with Corison, but I’m chalking it up to vintage?

Quite good. Certainly more traditional but this wine has ripe fruit and plush texture without feeling overly extracted. Good acidity helps make it taste fresh. Very good bottle drinking well.
