Showing much less maturity than the Cuvée Elizabeth. A very apple cider and pear nose joined by hints of biscuit. An abundance of structure with the acidity acting like the big man on campus. Salivating inducing honey coated minerals that somehow does not stifle the concentrated fruit which pops up on a very extended finish.

From Magnum. Amazingly precise and very pure. A gorgeous, yet young 2002 champers that is only going to get better over the next couple of decades.

The 2002 Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart comes across as rich, powerful and opulent. This latest release of the 2002 was disgorged in July 2015 and finished with a Chardonnay-based liqueur whereas the previous release, disgorged in May 2014, was finished with a Pinot Noir-based liqueur. This is a distinctly vinous, almost shockingly raw, visceral Champagne from Billecart-Salmon. There is no shortage of volume or intensity, that is for sure. Stylistically, this year's release inhabits a whole other world relative to last year's release. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2016)

Last wine we tasted after our tour at Champagne Billecart-Salmon. Our tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about the domains history and all the wines. Bright golden yellow with tons of tiny bubbles. Thick nose with layers of honey, stone and white fruits, almonds and some lemon zest. Well rounded with high acidity (7.5/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Fresh, lively and zesty on the palate with layers of brioche, stone fruits, green apples and a touch of citrus. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2037. Made up of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from the same plot every vintage. Only 20% is vinified in oak and also aged for 13 years on the lees.

Toast on top of creme brûlée. Meyer lemon, flinty on nose. Super complex, layers, delish.

Great but personally, I enjoyed the 1999 better. Little more racy acidity in the 99

Really fine bead , lovely golden colour. Tons of apple, pear and other stone fruit flavours. Another spectacular wine from the 2002 vintage. Tasted at Billiecart Salamon during the '17 harvest.
