Off dry style, layers of flavours going on. First rate wine. Wish I had another one for 5 years down the track.

Surprised that it was off-dry. Still delicious. Like, really delicious. These wines always disappear too quickly.

I don't have a strong knowledge of Riesling, but this was very good. Great depth and complexity without blasting me with sulfur or sugar. One of the better bottles of Keller I've had in recent years.

Red soil Kirschpiel. Can't deny my love for KP's wines. Another wine of ruthless minerality. First time having this cuvee. Compared to the limestone bottling, I reckon the RR seems "muddier" and sort of "darker". To me, the Kirschpiel GG has always had the lightest minerality and profile. Ethereal is definitely the right word. The RR seems brutish against it in my head, but I really need to see the wines side by side. I reckon the RS makes a difference. Terrific wine regardless.

A very special wine. So ripe the fruit and preserved so well in the bottle. It’s a raisin attack. So much grape, white flower and white fruit aroma. More aromatic when it’s in the mouth. Hints of dried apricot and jujube fruit on the palate. These characteristics usually come with a desert wine. But this one is nectar without excessive sweetness. Still mouth coating. May become more rounded after several years though.

This is the second time I’ve opened both a Riesling and a Pinot to pair with apple and sage brined grilled pork chops. Both times the Riesling has easily been the better pairing. I had to do it the second time because I had a hard time believing it the first time. This bottle was a bit off-dry with nice apple and honey notes and just a hint of wet wool. Very light, but also very flavorful.
