Monthly WTF wine group night. Our theme was American oak vs French oak. All wines tasted blind. We started off with two bottles of bubbly and finished with two non-themed reds. Fun to contrast alongside the ‘12 Ridge Cab. A lot more rich fruit here, but also channeling more tannin. Rich blue and black fruits with currant, baking spices at first, but there is a very nice balance of herbal notes, bayleaf and dusty tannin. Very enjoyable and still getting better. This place has one of the most gorgeous tasting rooms I’ve ever seen, so visiting is a must! Thanks @Bill Makens

Love this producer and they simply don't miss. Another fabulous 2012 napa cab and this is always amazing. Young pup that could be decanted for a few days or just let sit for another 10 years.

this has blue fruit and is quite extracted, but remains balanced. cant say that I find it a great value however.

Baby fat still showing. Had moderate acidity and structure so it drinks well if you like young wines of this style. Dark fruit with some cherry jam most pronounced.
