Demonstrating consistency from Palacios. Minimal intervention wine with floral fragrance plus a dash of barnyard. Elegant concentration of raspberries and soft spice with seamless oak integration. Benchmark Bierzo.

Hatten av, Petalos håller stilen. Fullt drickbar nu, men ge den några år så kommer den att vara ännu bättre (alkoholen sticker ut lite väl). Provensalska örter, rostig metall, mörka bär och lakrits.

Mencia is still unusual territory to me! But I would like to play more on its playground. @Anthony Lombardi I think you recommended this one! It hit my nose with leather but over the next hour or so unfolded: I got blackberries and flowers and dried savory herbs and then the green pepper came out to play, but just a bit. Mild in the acid, alcohol and body but still interesting. I would like to explore more Mencia!

Dusty dark fruit, black pepper. Floral. Syrah-like. Medium tannins and acid.

We've drank this wine for years, it's always consistent, with slight variations each vintage. A great value. Benefits from a decant. Plummy at first, then opening up into structured dark fruit, tannins, and astringency on the finish. Beautiful.

Slightly off-balanced between tannins and acidity. Black cherry and licorice w/ a medium finish. This bottle was disadvantaged given the pairing with Japanese cuisine.
