From the producer, "The Tami project was an idea that came to me a few years ago, and that was to prove that it's possible to make good, simple, natural wine in Sicily. Tami is something I've started with some friends who own some vineyards in Contrada, a district close to mine. Three years ago, we agreed we would convert their vines to organic viticulture. In '09, we made the first "all grape" vilification. The goal was to take good grapes and make a simple, every day wine." Arianna Ochipinti

Fresh with great spice and movement. Drying tannins. Fine complexity and length. Medium weight. Well made. Needs food. #frappato #tami #scicily

I pretty much love every Ariana Occhipinti touches. Second time with her Tami’ project. It’s murky but cohesive. Stems, minerals, red fruits, and good acid all in excellent balance.

Great bargain buy. Nice acidity and tannins. Paired extremely well with pesto pasta and sautéed chard.

Slight whiff of VA, incredibly juicy. Red and blue berries, nice underlying earth notes, which creates a rustic feel and dried flowers like violets. Great QPR from the second label of A. Occhipinti.

Firm and static sensation. Medium body with nice natural grape skin tartness on the tongue. Unripe plum, roses, and licorice.

First frappato in place of normal etna rosso. Pleasantly surprised.

Tami’ is overseen by the much lauded Arianna Occhipinti. It has ample fruit, strong ties to the earth, and an approachable structure low in tannin. It has aromas of strawberry, sandalwood, clove, and salty sea air. Fruity and light with strong acid and flavors of wet slate, it has a cool drapery in lieu of anything abrasive, tart, sour, or crunchy. Strawberry licorice kick at the finish.
