Part of Super Tuscan Horizontal tasting. All 2016 vintage Masseto, Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Solaia, Tignanello, Redigafi, and a mystery bottle (Phelps Insignia). Off the charts good. Immense density of fruit. Big mouthfeel, incredibly well balanced. Cherry, chocolate, blueberry, tobacco, cedar. This was by far the most expensive bottle in the tasting and It was completely worth it. Believe the hype and the ratings. This was phenomenal. Favorite of the night.

Dark ruby coloration. No translucency. On the nose, cocoa, espresso, cherry, cassis, vanilla, some notes of sweet red berries, ripe plum, sweet tobacco, and florals. As it decants the nose becomes more powerful. On the palate, rich and full bodied, with many of the same aromas showing up on the palate, predominantly the fruit, with plum the most pervasive followed by cherry, which gives way to the cocoa powder, espresso and an abundance of vanilla and then a minerality taste. Lots of layering and depth of flavors. Nice complexity. The tannins are strong, but the acidity keeps this wine feeling full bodied. $900.0 at B-21

Wow, har aldrig doftar eller smakat på något som påminner om det här vinet. Har en typ av mjölkig doft som är wierd men samtidigt lite förtrollande. Otroligt mjuk och fluffig. Söta röda körsbär, torkade plommon, choklad. Sexig! Som pryd blir jag lätt generad av detta vin.
