Highly expressive, structure, smooth tannins, blackberry, black raspberry, spices, incense, hints of smoked meats come initially, continuing to coffee and dark chocolate. No decant needed.

Hands down my favorite Northern Rhone producer. Consistently spectacular.

I knew it would be too young from the moment I pulled the bottle, but I just had to check in. On the nose I found smoky minerality, with wild herbs, crushed blackberry, white pepper and dried meats. Lifted textures greeted me on the palate, yet accentuated by saturating black fruits with hints of rosemary, black olive and a savory saline note. The finish resonated on tart blackberry with palate staining spiciness and young tannin. I can only imagine that time in the cellar will add body and softer textures, which would easily add a few more points to this score. For now, hands off--or decant for at least a few hours.

Pretty and floral on the nose. Olivey and balcony on the nose. And pebbley mineral quality and a touch of garrigue.

Seriously wound up. Stemmy and super dry. Mineral and stones. Not at all generous at the moment.
