Decanted for 2 hours but needed much more. Huge body, inky, staining glass and teeth, spice and tannin in full force. Could use some more cellar time or lots of decanting.

The estate dates back to the Crusades, and Scottish navigator, George Smith, the owner in the 18th century. He was followed by M. Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, and then Louis Eschenauer, a famous wine shipper. In 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard now own the estate. Dark plum red with dark berry fruit aromas, herb and spice. On the palate complex black fruit flavors, cinnamon tea and cacao notes. Soft tannins, rich and full, lingering, mineral ending, perfect now.

Very deep red with aromas of red and black fruit and herbal tea spice. The palate shows plum, blackberry and currants with a full body taste. Some mineral tones are revealed on the silky tannins giving way to a long finish. Should continue to develop over the next 5+ years.

Very inky and tarry. Earthy nose and dark fruited palate with coffee grinds on the finish. Balanced.

We had the 2010 Vintage on 8/19-20/23. A wonderful wine. Full bodied but still Old World. The bouquet was very Bordeaux with aroma of graphite, tobacco and cigar box. Blackberry, plum on the palate. Real good for a second label
