I know it’s young so I gave it an hour to open up and it certainly delivered. It was an expensive bottle but a pleasure of a bit immature.

Couldn't resist opening up a bottle, first of 6 bought en primeur. It was my first en primeur programme that I bought into at the time, and this is the first bottle out of my cellar out of all my bdx that I have bought since at en primeur. This is already drinking very well. Lots of cassis, sweet purple fruit and spices. Good acidity and freshness.

Decanted for a couple hours. High expectations. NOSE: branches and brambly fruit … raspberry … a little leather and shoe polish … cassis … blueberry … old book (but not must, mid-century) … minerals and earth … something very fresh … leaves … TASTE: elegant and subtle. Smooth. Dark fruits and leaves and smooth tannins. Black raspberry. Distinct minerals - clay, stones. Something very fresh, like fresh cut herbs or spices - but not green ones. Turkish coffee? There’s some very complex range of spices I can’t quite get to … cardamom is in there. Burnt orange. A dash of rose petal. A real treat. Started subtle, then once I had a bit to eat, began to explode. 95 EDIT: I believe this is the highest rating I have handed out for a red wine. It’s good.

Was uninspiring yesterday but today it is much better. Waaayyyy too young, but I had to open a bottle from the arrival to see how it was. Will evolve nicely as the tannins mellow over the years. This is an excellent wine in the making.
