The powerful and dense l’Evangile 2015 is according to some experts the last vintage of the classic style of the chateau. I have no experience with more recent vintages, all I can determine is this wine is wonderful. Fairly fragrant. The palate is voluptuous with a creaminess and melted tannins. Ripe fruits, baking spices, black truffle, olives, peppercorns, rock salt, sweet tobacco, noble wood, chocolate, roasted coffee beans. So opulent and so delicious.

4 hour decant(lots of chunky sediment). A breathtaking inky dark ruby red color. On the nose: blackberry, baking spice, smoke, plum, licorice, and some spicy pine. Taste: smooth, rich medium plus body wine with black cherry, tar, vanilla caramel, cassis, cigar box, and a dark chocolate strawberry bitter finish. Interesting to drink now(pop one if you have several)!!! Got more bottles and will see how it develops over the years for a possible better score(critics luved it)......modern style at 15.5% alc (whew!!).

Thick, strong blueberry flavors and a bit savory. Opening a bit after 5 hour decant. Seems like it has great potential. Will put in a dark corner of the cellar and check in again in 10 years. This is not even close to being ready.
