Very vegetal, acidic, and earthy.

For me this wine was in a very pleasant stage. Some developed notes on both nose and palate but it still retained acidity to keep things together despite the hot vintage.

Young and beautiful. Accessible right away with lovely blue fruit, soft tannin.

Birthday wine. Need to breath about an hour. Blue fruit nose start emerging later but not as strong as napa. The palate is very smooth and evolves. Very balance. Lots of elements in there and they come out one after another. There is leather, cassis, strawberry, black fruit, tea leaves, mineral, capsicum, powdery. Then flowery scent and lilac rhubarb and red pepper spicy aroma. Fiery fire. Long after taste

Aged in all respects, appearance, nose and taste. However, after some breathing a freshness came through. Blackberry, tropical fruit, a slight acidity, stewed black plum on the nose. Plum, warm spice, papua, banana, light citrus and prune on the palate. Aged, smooth, silk tannins and acidity. A subtle dryness on the palate. Delicious.

Can’t afford his big brother, but this is pretty damn good. Classic bordeaux aromatics, although a bit more fruit-forward (no doubt a reflection of the vintage - 2003 was the heat wave/drought year in Europe). Went really well with the amazing braised lamb shank the Vanessa made for dinner. Not sure this is going to improve much, so I’d recommend drinking this sooner rather than later.

Awesome wine. Similar to moulton Rothschild. Rounded and a lingering flavor profile.

Lotta folks throwing shade at '03 for being hot. Gotta tell ya. This was immaculate. On point. And all that great Bordeaux should be. I feel that it was aided by a reverse sear on some grass fed W PA strip steaks and kids running thru the backyard, but pay that no mind. Some of these better made 03s are showing well right now. Take note. Drink up.

Initial reductive smell blew off to reveal a lovely curranty Cabernet. Not as big as it's illustrious elder sibling but very well made for this drought year. Some leathery notes. Very good.
