Bright and good grip. Dark on midpalate. This is a complex, sophisticated wine and very delicious.

Monthly WTF group. Theme this month was merlot. All wines tasted blind. My guess was domestic and that it was a 2013-2015. Very surprised this was French. I found it to be a very modern expression. Ripe fruits, licorice, plum, cassis, and just a faint hint of leather at last sip. I imagine its French pedigree would have shown itself more as the night went on. Really enjoyed this.

Liked this so much, had to get another bottle. Almost all Merlot with about 5% Cab Franc, aromas of berry fruits with floral herb notes and earthy tones. On the palate blackberry and blueberry flavors with licorice and cedar notes. Fine ripe tannins, medium finish ending with toasty earthy notes and mineral character. Nice now but give it a few years. Good value for a wine that will reward with aging.

Excellent representation of Saint-Émilion with aromas of earth, floral, herbs, and notes of blueberries, blackberries, licorice, and cedar. While it had low tannins, I was surprised to see so much minerality with this vintage. It was a great bottle and was decanted for over 2 hours, but definitely was not enough time and won't revisit until at least 3 more years. If you have a 2015 of this wine, my recommendation is to hold on to it as it is still very young.
