Beautiful stuff. Golden and long. Brûlée notes, soft vanilla and poised lemon. Caring the age really well with lovely acidity and balance.

Deep dark gold color. Thick like motor oil. Notes of apricot, warm orange slices, tan spice, some toffee and some honey. Sweet but not overly so. Great energy and length. Fitting end to a great night of food and wine.

M’s bday dinner (11/12). Tasted blind. Dark gold, heavy. Notes of brown sugar, clove, tan spice, apricot, burnt orange, peach and a little honey. In the mouth this comes across as perhaps one of the richest Sauternes I’ve tasted. Big mouth feel. Layers of complexity as the acidity comes and goes but the richness is constant. Great finish to the evening.

Dark amber in color. Apricots and saffron, orange on the nose. The palate is beautifully poised. Glycerin like texture and the sugar has receded to leave a wonderfully balanced palate. Ripe orange, honey, spice, caramel and acacia. The finish goes on and on. A brilliant bottle.

Nice to drink a d'Yquem at the top of its game; this 75 was; superb, peachy actually in harmony with the botrytis aromatics which have subsided back to semillon honey; dried nut delicious, not overly coloured; just perfect with double cream brie; produced by locals when d'Yquem winemaker came to town with 13 and 05 to show; wow, #sauternes #bordeaux #botrytis #sémillon #sauvignon #dyquem #classy
