This is lovely. Inky sweetish fruit. Iodine and violets at the edges. Sweetness and lush long fruit. Very good.

Deep garnet with amber rims, almost opaque. A little darker compared to the 82 CB next to it. Great old Bordeaux nose. Black fruit, pencil lead, plus some light notes of wood. Chewy in the mouth at first but over the night this goes to a velvet and silky place. The WOTN for me. Quieted down at the end of the night but gave us huge enjoyment, clearly outshining the 47 and 82 served with it. Tasting all these blind and then side by side over 4 hours is pretty awesome.

Significantly better than the last one I had. Still showing a decent amount of fruit and still pure harmony. In a great spot.

I have tasted many 1961 over the years, this continues to be one of my favorite wines...The strange thing is that this bottle with its high necklinewas the youngest 1961 that I had ever tried, wine had an great Providence - One owner and one incredible cellar. 1961 was a magical year on the right bank; now over 50 years of age it has lost some weight but picked up elegance on the nose - wet clay, graphite/lead pencil, umami/truffle - nose candy for sure.

Oj, oj, oj. Det här vinet är alltså 56 år. Men smakar som nyplockade bär. Blåbär, vinbär och pepparmint. Så otroligt gott, går inte beskriva det mer precist än så.

Layers of dark fruit with a trace of cocoa. In a word..profound.
