A good Barolo that needed more time. Tannins still tight. Rose petals and ref fruit on the bouquet. Tart cherry and leather on the palate. Still tart. Will be better in 5 years.

From last week. Terrific barolo that went great with linguini and a homemade tomato sauce with waygu meatballs. Yum.

Decanted for a hour. Needs alot more time, way too young. Interesting barolo, initially it was almost amarone like. Lots of raisin, cherry, tobacco, smoke, and tannins. Good now but much better in a few years.

2021/1/6-7 with cotechino con lenticchie and nimono. I don’t get to drink this, one of my favorite wines, nearly as much as I used to since the price in Japan has risen by 45% since the 2011 vintage. But it’s a wonderful, traditional Barolo - indeed, despite the warm vintage and overall approachability of wines of this type over the last decade or two, there’s a lot of puckering tannin here. But, especially with air, there’s also layers of wonderful strawberry and cherry fruit, flowers and that tarry thing.

This is a stunning bottle in the making. Floral notes of crushed violets and roses, blackcurrant and cinnamon, followed by a very long mouth with high density of tannins that are well resolved. Was a bit of an experiment to drink this before 2035, but with decanting it was a mit more accessible. Buy what you can find. This is top notch Barolo.

Catching up on an old capture. This was banging, but the music was distorted. Needs time, time, and more time. In the end it will be killer, but as for tonight it was a lesson in patience and looking beyond the grip. One to follow for sure!

Young, austere, energetic. Was great and will be amazing in 10 years.
