Three hours in the decant and still a little closed, but with more time the wine unfurled to become more and more primary. Tannin profile note quote as resolute as one may expect from Castiglione, but these Vietti wines do tend to more approachable than most. Watery acid and long finish. Spot on. Worth another look in ten.

Like many Viettis this wine is amazingly accessible given its youth. Strawberry and dried flowers, forest floor and smoke.

Red bing cherry, velevety rose petals, tar, light oak on the nose and palate. Some sweet tobacco. Medium acid, medium minus tannin. Drinking with bolognese and it's a great pairing. Better when it opens up a bit

Dried cherries and roses, hazelnuts, and tobacco. Slightly austere on the palate with sharp acidity and dry tannin. Acid is dominate. Better with food - paired with coffee cherry rubbed beef tenderloin. 13.5% ABV is noticeable as this is on the lighter, more elegant side, no heat. This effort improved with a little air may need a little more time to come together.

'12. Savoring these pre-acquisition Vietti's while I can. Brilliant aromatics, palpable, pleasing tannins, spice, violets and a thrilling partner to pork loin with cherry vinaigrette and bitter field greens.
