Dark ruby violet. Blackberry, graphite, and a slight herbal note on the nose. Dense and concentrated red and black fruits on the palate with prominent, chunky tannins and long, gravelly finish. Blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot fermented with native yeasts then aged 19 months in 50% new French oak. Made by Diana Snowden wife of Jeremy Seysses of Domaine Dujac in Burgundy. Would undoubtedly benefit from more time in the bottle. 14.5% ABV. $50.

Good Cabernet, with intense fruit flavors and a little sweet. Not complex but a well-made Cabernet.

Have to let this open up a little because it starts off a little tight. Notes of tobacco, leather, spice and some dark fruit. After a while more fruit comes out though still a little tight.

Doing a vintage compare. Same wine...2013 now, 2012 tomorrow... Fairly opaque crimson color. Wide clear alcohol rim. Evergreen nose with dark red fruit. Perfect body. Medium plus. A little white pepper mid palate, and ends with hot drying tannins. 93 points

Dark and rich....almost like an ink. Bursting with flavor after 15-20 minutes of air.

Berries - black maybe. Violets. Toasted almonds. Wrapped around tannins. Smooth. Big. Perfectly paired with filet medium rare.

Oak and some red berries on the nose. Flavor is more oaky, perhaps some vanilla (not a lot). Not much in fruit flavors. Tannic, but smooth.

Napa Cab will never be my go to wine but this one sure is nice. Fruit and tannins in balance. Long finish. Needs some time and it will be a showstopper!
