2013. Fruit, mint, and a lot of coriander. More interesting than your typical dolcetto.

Elio Altare’s 2013 Dolcetto d’Alba is a great introduction to the wines of one of Piedmont’s most inspired growers. Lavender, violets, plums and black cherries are all supported by bright acidity in a pulsating, vibrant Dolcetto full of personality. (AG)

Ideal with food. On the light end of medium-bodied. Cherry, white pepper, foliage, earth. Refreshing.

Great wine (2013) at Table restaurant in Asheville, NC. At with grouper and pork.

Good stuff, surprisingly tannic and "serious"

Absolutely loved the bright, juicy, transparent red cherries bursting from this! I often get a meaty savoriness in dolcetto, and it showed up in this too to play a balancing act with all that delicious fruit. A stand up medium-ish (but not in quality!) wine to go with things like roast chicken or on its own.
