Lafarge makes a great gamay. Juicy, tart cherries, cranberries, pomegranate, but also earthy and slightly stemmy. Complex.

That is superb. A new Beaujolais project from the hands of Frederic Lafarge. Glad. Had a chance to taste that today. 2014 first vintage. Avg 60 year old vines, 25% whole cluster, neutral oak, landing May 2016. This one was my favorite of the 3 tasted. A minor dust note on the nose, red fruit pops more, and there is a zing of tension and structure on the mouthfeel. Lip schmacking finish with cherries. Word is Frederic believes this is the vineyard best for cellar aging.
