Great but pretty tight right now. 2hrs of air have allowed it to unravel a bit but I'm probably not popping another bottle for a year or so

Extremely fruity on the nose and light in body for a Clape wine. But fresh and beautiful young. A lovely and very approachable version of the legendary Syrah-producer.

Such a spectacular wine! Makes it super easy to wait for the Cornas.

2 Hour decant for this young ‘un. Funky nose, palate is roasted meats, spices. Gorgeous inky purple. Delicious and age-worthy.

It truly says something about Auguste Clape that his 25$ entry wine tastes like it could age for twenty years or more. Decanted 2 hours. Classic Cornas nose, though somewhat subdued. Deep purple. Huge profile at only 12.5% ABV. Tannic. Hold, but if you can't wait, decant for a few hours.

40 year old vines on river stones. Parallels S.Rhône Syrah somewhat, without the brooding weight, high alcohol, or tannic profile. Very fresh. Deeply hued, abundance of ripe black and blueberry fruit, roasted herbs, sweet umami notes like shiitake and candied olive, leather, baked earth minerality, smoke, sweet licorice, lavender and violets. So balanced and joyful, always a pleasure to taste wines from a true master.

Have loved prior vintages, but 2015 seemed dull at this point
