Riper then expected, delicious and showing a lot character (mostly fruit) in its youthful stage.

Too young for sure. But mineral, black fruits, violets, lavender, ink, pepper. Want to taste again in 5 years.

Side by side with the 2003 this was a notch off but only because of its youth. 2011 and 2003 outperformed minor expectations that were not far off but maybe lower than expected. This just proves producer and terroir trump everything except mother nature.

Dark fruits with some serious stuffing. Drinking great on day four.

Good Syrah, but very muted. Nose was closed. Palette was elegant. Expensive for what it was.

What an interesting wine. It's immediately N. Rhone on the nose as well as on the first sip but it evolves quickly and the roundness of dark red fruit starts to come through in a few hours. No bitterness or dry features at all, which is lovely but a little backward for me and this wine. We absolutely loved it, but I felt it showed older than its years. Nonetheless , I love Cornas and this is a fun and utterly enjoyable wine.
