Beautiful Ruby Red Colored Margaux with Strong and Powerful Tannins, Red and Black Fruit Forward with a long but slightly dry finish due to the young 2012 vintage. This Margaux was drinking quite well after one hour in the decanter which refined the tannins a little bit. If you currently have one in the Cellar, best to wait a year or two before opening. This definitely drank much better than the 2013.

Delocious and open knot. Big blue fruit couched with nice tannin.

The 2012 shows a clear sign of struggle to ripeness. At this point the overwhelming sensation both on the nose and palate is derived from of oak barrel aging. I couldn't help but list descriptors such as vanilla, chocolate, cedar, and baking spices. Fruits are well hidden at this stage. Hopefully with a decade or so in the cellar, we may be able to appreciate the pedigree of Kirwan's great terroir. 87+

Red and black fruit, drying tannin on the finish, floral some smoky oak. If reevaluation ever took place in Bordeaux this would not still be a 3rd growth.
