Medium to deep mix of ruby and garnet red. Bigger punch on the nose than the 2006. A touch smoky, and dark fruits in the finish. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Palate started off a bit tight but then had some black cherries and woody notes. Great structure and a bit of graphite in the dry long finish. Drink till 2030. (93+)

After about 3 hours the tannins showed up a bit more. Not as much as expected. Tobacco spice with a mellow finish

Smokey and herbaceous nose. Dangerously easy to drink!

One of our favorite wines (and wineries), enjoyed Christmas 2016. 2012 vintage.
