Beaujolais is a go-to summer red because it’s light enough to guzzle in the heat, maybe with a bit of a chill, but it gives up nothing in complexity. You can drink it with almost any food, or just enjoy it in the park. 2010 was a great vintage in Beaujolais and the good wines are really hitting their stride now, 6 years on. And this is good wine! It’s got delicious 2010 fruit, but is also starting to show the terroir signatures: the earth, a hint of iodine.
