The Three Foxes Clairette Blanche 2013

9.09 ratings on Delectable
$27.99

100% Clairette Blanche from 70-year-old bush-trained vines. 50% of the grapes were skin-fermented for 6 months, and the remaining were fermented and aged in an egg-shaped tank. This wine has seductive floral and mineral aromas with a fleshier mid-palate than is typical of this variety.

Hay, straw, wax, oil. Great stuff!

Brace yourself for a seriously natural wine on day 1. On day 2, it turns cidery & beery enough to get it down the pipe. Definitely an acquired taste.

Tons of acid leads to great pear and citrus notes but with a slightly rounder mouth. She's a beauty. Well done gents!

I'll call this a semi-orange wine. Phenolic, but (thankfully) not overly oxidized. Quite aromatic - mandarin, lemon zest, tarragon. Fresh and savory. 150 cases produced.
