Scarpa has long engaged in massale selection (replacing dead vines with the best vines in their vineyard, rather than a clone from a nursery), resulting in their own rare clone of Ruche, which they spell as Rouchet on the labels due to the vines being outside of the Ruche DOC delimitations. The has all Ruche's signature florality, and, if library releases from Scarpa are anything to go by, will develop serious complexity and earthy depth with bottle age.
