Pillowy soft but still has tannins, black currant skins, leather. Very long finish. Elegant.

What austerity + power! This was moderately aromatic but the flavors have a great depth to them. Not showing in an "open" way, though, but delicious with cherry, spices cranberry jam, and some earth. Curious what more time would do!

This wine was a monolith. Open for a few hours, with steak, it showed awesome spiced cranberry jam notes. Tannins still quite noticeable, but overall structure is pretty integrated. I'd love to see this in 5 years, but wouldn't be surprised if it needs another 10!

Had the 2005 vintage in June 2016. Fewer tannins, more smooth then typical. Recommend letting it breathe for few before enjoying it.

Fantastic! Plenty of tannin while still showing age. Softened after decanting and sitting open.

Dirty sediment and globs of tartrate crystals fill my glass. The aroma can be smelled from a foot away. Menthol and overly ripe red berries with a beautiful flower bouquet. Overly ripe fruit made it a bit flabby but doable.

A bountiful nose of tobacco, menthol, clove, coriander and camphor, with stewed fruits and rhubarb hiding underneath. Decanted over two hours. Dirty tartrate crystals populate the bottle in huge amounts. The body is medium to full with shockingly graceful and integrated pomegranates, rhubarb, citrus peel, rose petals, eucalyptus, tar, dusty tannins, and a hint of kirsch. Refined and subtle mouthfeel with some grit and chalkiness. Elegant. Light on its feet but with bewitching depth and sophistication. Still around medium, medium-plus bodied. Shards of sediment are forming throughout the wine. A "wow" wine nonetheless.
