Pierre-Yves' Corton Charlemagne is always one of the most exciting wines in his line-up. The wine is incredibly intense and finely-etched, and it screams Charlemagne! A must-have for white Burgundy collectors.

Simultaneous feelings of extreme satisfaction and extreme shame at drinking a thing so beautiful but so young.

Smells amazing. Sick nose. Detailed. Depth. Richness. Minerality up the wazoo. Pure, richness and long finish.

for Bryan: wow. The recent purchase of some 2015 made me want to taste one with at least a few years on it. Drinking Corton Charlemagne this young is a bit of a travesty, ameliorated some by the risk of premox. This is old school—in a good way—Corton Charlemagne. Dense and oily, almost thick and chewy, it’s the essence of citrus wrapped in acidity, some steeliness and a very rigid spine, though the wine fans out on the finish, lasts and lasts. Really great stuff.

Lemon-dipped razor blades dancing on my tongue, all the salivary glands squeezing in unison, great young Corton C. Non-wine geek friends said, “good,” and I wanted to slap them while screaming, “profound!”

2011 vintage, half bottle. Nice, fluid, round with good minerality And proper acidity. Good effort.

Low on Tanin, but high on acidity. Fresh. Maybe another 3 years...

Magnum 2011 Pierre Yves Colin Morey Corton Charlemagne White Burgundy. First white of the night at our first dinner on deck. Awesome! Drank very differently than the 08 in 750 ml. Super fun to compare.
