Pascal Janvier Cuvée du Rosier Coteaux du Loir Pineau d'Aunis 2015

The Janviers mostly grow Chenin, but they also have a microdot of Pineau d'Aunis vines. Like the Jasnières whites, this is a wine with a slight build—especially compared to Pineau d'Aunis from Clos Roche Blanche, Briseau, or Bellivière's Eric Nicolas—but with striking vivacity and minerality. If you, too, mourn the loss of Domaine de Montrieux's magical Verre des Poètes, you will find some solace in Janvier's bottle.

A bit more grapefruit on the nose and the palate than the 2014. Still a light and gluggy delight with tart berries, hints of spice and faint but grippy bitterness.

This is one of those 'silly grin' wines for me. No, not deep or complex, but floral and filled with tart, crunchy red fruit, and oh so easy to drink. Easy. Refreshing.

Been a few years, but this is exactly how I remember it. White pepper to the max, strawberries, minerals and a tingling effervescence. Always a fun wine.

Maybe our bottle was corked as it was quite spritzy

Bright, bubbly, crisp, cherry soda. Like a Gamay and bubbly rose had a baby.

Whoa, very interesting wine! First time with this grape. Bit fizzy on the open, some earth and fruit, but thirst quenching. Gave it a slight chill. Might be a killer hot weather red
