This wine comes from a small 0.23 hectare vineyard above the Route National just below Vosne Romanee. This is a rich Nuits Saint Georges - dark garnet red color, a nose full of red and black fruits, the palate is also very beautifully fruit driven with a mineral tang, crisp acidity and a very long finish. This wine has great focus and tension - it is a very "Vosne" Nuits Saint Georges from the immensely talented 27 year old Nicolas Faure. He spent his stagiare year at Jean-Louis Chave in Hermitage, got a job at Domaine de la Romanee Conti and was hired by Henri-Frederich Roch to work at Prieure Roch. This young man is one of the most talented young winegrowers in Burgundy and this is the cornerstone of his tiny yet ever growing domaine. Definitely an address to watch!
Loads of acid up front - pomegranate tea with just a little leathery tobacco hiding at the end. The nose on this is mental, and I do love some aromatic hydrocarbons.
