Fram Wines Stellenbosch Pinotage 2013

$27.99

A Pinotage that will convert even the staunchest skeptic. Old vines struggling in the red sandy soils of Citrusdal Mountain yield a wine dense with fruit yet still remarkably graceful. Deeply pitched flavors of purple wild berries & blueberry pie filling wrap the palate like a cozy blanket.

Don't have a lot of pinotages to compare against but certainly liked this one. Big and tannic like a Malbec (good acid with spicy fruit and licorice) with an earthy funk on the finish almost like a Cabernet franc the nose. 2013 vintage.

Tries to be a mellow Pinotage. Nothing amazing. If I were this wine's life coach, I would tell it, "Get down with your weird self!" Pinotage should be weird.
