Ferdinand Krebs Neumagener Rosengärtchen Auslese Riesling 1999

These Auslese are made in a very classic style – emphasizing delicacy and elegance over power of fruit. That said, there is plenty of charming fruit, with tones of lime and mint giving dimension to the purity and transparency. The finish maintains gentle length & clarity. A very pretty wine.

7.5% AbV and everything else good about Riesling. Bone crushing acidity, touch of residual sugar, green apple and apple pie.

Wow! Day two in particular has the wine shining through. Surprised how light straw yellow and non viscous this 18 year old auslese is. So much vibrant acid coming through and balanced with stone fruit and confectionery sugar.

It may be old but it's still kicking. Great harmony among the sugar, acid, and fruit. Not gonna get any better, but a great example of how balanced wine stays balanced over time.
