Failla Hirsch Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012

9.252 ratings on Delectable
$72.98

In addition to owning his own vineyard on the next ridge, winemaker Ehren Jordan has produced a Hirsch bottling since 1999, making him one of the most prolific producers on the Coast. 2012 is dazzling, with deeper cherry notes and a more robust feel than other vintages, while still capturing the saline coastal signature of this site.

A very balanced, lively, and elegant Pinot. Very rarely can I use elegant and California Pinot Noir in the same sentence, but with this Failla bottling, I can.

Decanted 2 hours and still fairly closed but shows a dense core and nice tannin structure. May be better in a year or two.
