Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2002

Beautiful ruby red, soaring aromatics, dark fruit, very Morey Saint Denis, resolved tannin, very fruit forward and user-friendly. Like the sap of the Pinot Noir vine. Delicious - ready to drink, great balance. What a wonderful mature bottle of Grand Cru Burgundy!

2005. Enjoyed this. Has time left like 10 years plus. But tasty now too

Like many '02s, this is drinking well right now with quite a mouthful of fruit, but still the pretty aromatics you would expect from Lambrays. Secondary notes of spice and mushrooms are present, but not to the depth of a fully mature Burg. Check back again over the next decade and beyond...

Beautiful wine. This had a nose of sweet berry fruits, spice box, lavender, underbrush, violet, game, iron and mineral. On the mouth it was rich, sweet and spicy with good acidity and length.

2002 vintage. Medium ruby hue. What a nose. Quite pronounced. Earth, smoke, cranberry, raspberry and mix of crushed berry notes. Slight mineral character. Complex. On the palate, very balanced. Medium plus acidity, medium body, medium alcohol and medium tannins - slightly chalky. Great length and concentration despite being fairly ethereal. Drinking very well, but might improve further. Drink now until 2026.
