Domaine des Huards (Michel Gendrier) Romo Cour-Cheverny Romorantin 2011

$17.99

Domaine Huards is an old estate wiith 37 hectares under vine, which is large for the Loire. Their focus is Romorantin: the sole grape of Cour-Cheverny which rarely found elsewhere. The wine is extremely versitile with food; a Swiss Army knife of pairing.

Delicious and light and so fragrant! Lovely white which tastes smooth and didn't blow up my histamine response. If your sensitive to sulfites and preservatives, this wine is excellent and super clean!'

A winery I've been following for quite some time now but whose wines I haven't tasted for a couple of years. Biodynamic Loire wines from around Cheverny. Some PN, Chard, SB and the king of the region, Romorantin, a Burgundian grape variety not to be found there anymore. This is their simple "Romo"rantin. Light glue, almonds, apricot followed by wild grown apples. A minerality that is incredible with finesse. A superb aperitif. Or pair with oysters.
