Sipping Fine Wine

In 1879, two brothers decided to set up a wine business, C.V.N.E., Compañía Vinicola del Norte de España (The Northern Spanish Wine Company) or la Cuné, as it is commonly known in Haro, was created and still kept in the traditional neighborhood of the Haro station today. Very deep red with dark berry aromas and complex spices. On the palate blackberry, cherry and sweet currant with herb, leather and pepper spice. Fine tannins, well balanced showing depth and structure on a lingering finish with room to age. Tasting Sample.

Very smooth! Not too strong so it can be had with food or without. Smells of oak but the taste is barely noticeable!

I thought I'd try to expand my palate. Rioja seemed a reasonable place to start. To me, the fruit was too hidden and the tannins too present to make this wine compelling to drink. Sure, it went down with food well enough, but that's about it.
