Chateau Potensac is owned by the Delon family of Leoville Las Cases and Clos du Marquis. Situated on the northern outskirts of the Medoc on the border of St. Estephe, this estate produces elegant Cabernet Sauvignon driven wines. The '97 vintage is a wine drinkers vintage and is in a perfect spot 18 years later with fully integated tannins and supple fruit. Dare I say it is the best value in the shop? Drink up!

Excellent with the Doug's perfect tri-tip. Very mineral style claret with tons of cut. Not nearly as ripe as most 97's.

Man what a steal! 18 year old Medoc AOC, showing both mature and youthful fruit character, a little dusty leather, pipe tobacco, ever so slightest hint of brett. The palate really delivered more than I expected--broad and mouth filling, tannins have grip but have that ironed out feel that is my favorite thing about aged Bordeaux. K&L $25!

Yum. A "why don't I drink more red" kind of wine. Leather, tar, tobacco, plum, berry, rocks, dirt. Good with steak, better with cheese and prosciutto.

Friday night steak and claret with the best value Cabernet at K&L! 18 years old, fresh, but also full of the nuances that only time will bring- and $25!!! This dry Bordeaux is for grown ups who don't want RS in their Cabernet.

Herbaceous, cedar, and leather on the front nose. Finishes with berry and red currant fruit. Tremendous value for a mature red wine.

Dark fruits, blackberry, black plum, leather, saddle wood, black earth, pebbles, star anise, ,perfectly resolved soft tannins. A critically reviewed vintage but Potensac did something special. This property sits adjacent to Leovillle La Cas, similar wine making. Extreme value. Buy it up!

A good, complex left bank Bordeaux - tastes like some more expensive examples.

Better then I had expected. This is what Bordeaux should be trying to do more of. Softened tannins, dry but not too astringent and mellowed plum and cassis. Not too much fruit or oak.
