Château Mouton Rothschild Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

Great aromas of cassis and cedar, good mouthweight, very flavorful in the middle with a long finish that stays with you. This is a top class bottle of Mouton Rothschild, a great cabernet sauvignon powered bottle of Pauillac. At twenty years of age a lot the tannins have dropped out and the wine has mellowed.

What a treat. Needs 10 more years, at least.

Really enjoy how approachable this one is right now, the guest told me he prefers the '98, I understand why, but this is so well balanced between the oak/fruit/development, has quite a few years ahead of it, it's not showy, but if you want a high end 1st growth to actually accompany French food, then this is it.

Pure elegance !!! Tasted blind, guessed correctly the vintage and AOC , but missed this iconic chateau. Still young and could be cellared for another decade. Deep garnet color, nose is still quite tight, with black current, coffee, leather, and earthy notes, with mushrooms and soil, full body, firm tannins, still quite dry, yet well integrated, lovely supporting acidity. A long lasting finish. A true pleasure. My score 92, drink to 2025 perhaps longer. Shana Tova to all of those celebrating.

Super expressive. Dark berries and plum, a touch of espresso. Powerful with a long finish.
