Still young. But classic. Scorched earth, tweed jacket, mulberry, spice, leather. Insane concentration and finesse. Terrific velvety tannins. Top stuff.

Incredible wine. Drinking perfectly now. Intense nose of blackcurrant and horse dung; on the palate, a superb emulsion of liquorice, cassis, and dark fruits developing into a silky display of chocolate orange backed by fine grain tannins. Finish just keeps on giving. Excellent.

A great old school Graves composed of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. It had a clean earth and bright mineral nose that was nicely open and framed by a little bit of vanilla. The fruit was sweet and rich, the texture decadent, and the overall impression as big as a California wine. On the back end it focused into pure Graves minerality… I wish I had bought cases of this on release and will be looking out for it in the future!

Despite most smorgasbord-style tastings, I feel like a decent Bordeaux is best in its own and not in a flight of a half dozen competing with the narcissism of small differences. This has some brett which complicates in a good way the dark cherry and fading plum. Still quite structured with tannins still in need of taming. I like @Lyle Fass "tweed jacket and mulberry" description, but only if you found that tweed jacket at a vintage shop in horse country. No one has ever fed me a mulberry, nor have I successfully foraged one.

Still youthful and expressive. Just starting to drink by incredibly well with some air.
