Château La Vieille Cure Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

$38.99

This includes wine from vines that are over 100 years old, ensuring great concentration and the kind of complexity that only old vines can produce. This is definitely a great deal on cellar worthy wine.

Perhaps the standard bearer of Fronsac. Smoke, charcoal, savory black fruit, with firm velvety tannins. Alluring and balanced.

Drinking some wine and watching How to Get Away with Murder with India. The color of the wine is dark opaque red. Smells like a papermill, a little pencil shavings, and dark berries. After two hours, opens with a more barnyard like nose, like hay and possibly cheese. It is warming. Strong tannins 7.5/10, moderate to full body, very dry like sandpaper. Very heavy, and like dry thickness. In taste some cassis appears after 2 hrs. Overall not a bad bottle of french Bordeaux for $30. A few more years would be really good for this wine.

Very well structured, like most 2011 Bordeaux it needs more time in the bottle. Give this wine a couple years and it's going to be absolutely killer!

Earthy, chocolate hint, charcoal..fruit very lacking, if any, black cherry would be my guess. great acid, med plus tannins..this DEF needs more time decanting or even in the cellar. Well structured.

Seemed a little young, but still good. Wouldn't mind seeing how it was in couple of years

The old curate in this equation struggles for Bordeaux respectability and finds that it has instead sucked all the life out of him. The hallmarks of Bordeaux are there: restraint, structure, deep fruit. But only in the palest forms. A little too astringent and lacking in fruit. But serviceable.

Tastes young to me with fairlybhighbtannins but not offensive. Deep ink color.

Okay - Not my favorite. Husband really liked it. Not as smooth as others we've had and the tasting notes weren't anything super impressive.

I like this more than I should. Rough around the edges, with occasional interruptions of "green" flavors, but overall just fantastic concentration and structure. Delish.

Good Merlot based wines, spice and tannins are excellent, finish leaves something to be desired
