Work: cellar inspection. Mature. Thinning at the edges, palate texture and flavor wise...but still fragrant and delicious. Good buy around $75-100

Old style Bordeaux that was one of my early acquisitions in '77 ; bright acidity adding firmness to mouthfeel. Classic construction from the 70's.

What is the cliché? No good old wines but good old bottles. This was a very good bootle.

Holding together but past its prime for sure. Savoury as all hell.

After 30-40 min in the decanter this bird began to sing. Enjoyed by several tasting it.

Needed some time to open up, but once it did, this old boy still had some life in it.

Very nice wine and one of the oldest I have in my cellar. Didn't think too much of it as I was opening it seemed to have a lot of sediment throughout which I did my best to screen out. The nose was a bit funky, although, not corked. The taste was mainly tar with some hints of fruit with a nice finish. Was not acidic at all.

Old school style Bordeaux. This was a tannic monster in its youth but has developed into a classic 75 showing complex notes of red & black fruits, cedar, leather. Earth, slightly austere style. Fully mature and at its peak.

Old style Bordeaux. Cedar is nipping around the fruit. In addition, evidence of underbrush. Altogether it is an amazing example of old style wine making.
