The color is so dark blood red - like a California Cabernet - nearly opaque to clear on the meniscus. I noted that it tasted like an off vintage of Penfold's Grange by which I mean one of the drier Grange (s) that did not get a huge score, one in great balance. Big and rich and alcoholic, fragrant but there is a pre-existing balance to its components that guaranteed its longevity to this point and will guarantee its future for at least 20 more years. An atypical bottle of Margaux, a Margaux that wants to be a Saint Estephe or something. Truly remarkable and powerful wine.
Kinda dumb. Kinda jammy.
