Singular and arrestingly powerful wine from 80-year-old bush-trained Carricante vines growing in the sandy, minerally, volcanic soils of the eastern slope of Mt. Etna. The producer's pairing recommendation is "with fish even if elaborate." Who are we to disagree?

Powerful nose of slate, salt, petrol, with acacia honey, citrus peel, liquid rocks and a massive finish, phenomenal! this needs time in bottle and decanting would be a good idea.

Rock salt, pulverized sea shell, incredible complexity without the heaviness. Wow, the tannin level is extreme! I love it. This is absolutely exciting stuff!

Hard to rate, because the wine showed very withdrawn on the nose. Nice cool & mineral drive on the palate. I brought this wine to the tasting but if I would get this double blind, I NEVER thought this could come from such a southern place.

Beautiful white wine. Chablisesque in its minerality and saline nature. Very fun.

Intensely saline with mineral and only a hint of fruit- think citrus rind.

One of the best white wines I've had from all of Italy, much less Sicily. Bright and laser focused. Darts of citric acidity intertwined with flint and white flowers. I'm hooked.
