USA : VERMONT One of the few 100% rye whiskies on the market, Whistle Pig's Straight Rye delivers quite a punch. The oak mellows out the harsh spiciness of the rye over the years but the distinct herbal spice qualities still come through. Incredible notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, some hints of citrus mingling with a minty freshness. There is a caramel richness on the palate. It finishes with an earthy, bready note. Rye whiskey at its finest. Scotch aficionados, meet your American match made in heaven. A cool fact: The master distiller, Dave Pickerell, used to work as a master distiller at Maker's Mark.

100 proof, 100% rye. So smooth and well made. Delicious spicy notes that give way to a rich butterscotch, vanilla, and caramel finish. Absolutely NO burn on the finish. Very well done.

Color of clear cider. Nose of sweet apple, oak, crayon, spice and strength of alcohol. Taste of spicy menthol on the tongue, sweet green apple, warm alcohol, and a bit honey and flowering note. Powerful with quite distinctive edges. Like a cowboy. Aftertaste is spicy and tannin like dryness. Quite interesting.
