Rich light berries, cherry, spice, hint of tobacco, med acidity, young but still good.

This really hit the spot for me. Restrained and elegant like the Gaja, but more depth. Lovely minty, medicinal herb note on the end. Some orange peel? Super fresh. Jumped to the top of my favorite Brunello list with Conti Costanti and Gaja.

Founded at end of 1800 when Lavinio Franceschi, Florence land owner, visited the area. Over a century later, Tenuta covers an area of 530 hectares (140 planted with vines; 50 with olive trees). Aged in French oak for 36 months, 100% Sangiovese hand picked from 20-year old vines. A Gem! Vibrant deep red with rich berry fruit aromas with enticing spice. Complex rich berry fruit flavors, mostly cherry, with tobacco, cacao & subtle spice. Soft tannins, lingering finish ending with alluring earthy tones.

680hkd at restaurant The Chairman 2017/10. Burnt red fruit, coffee-like nose. Nothing spectacular on the palate. Probably went into dormancy. May be awake again in 5-7 years.

Delicious. Bright compared to some of the older Il Poggiones, I think.

Good but not exceptional. Perhaps too young. Fruit/bomb. Cherry flavor wine that reminds me of a big California Cabernet. Complex finish and elegant. Great nose.
