Youthful exuberance recedes a touch with a decant, but this wine has some growth ahead. Great texture and expressive nose, tannins will resolve with a touch of time and will only up the score. Red fruit but spicy, good salty notes on the palate and developing length of over a minute. Just entering the window but more is coming. I’d expect the next bottle to be even better.

Pale onion-peel pink. Delicately fruity and floral aromas of jasmine, honyesuckle, redcurrant, gooseberry and minerals. Bright and crisp, this is a paragon of balance and delicacy. Lovely stuff. 100% Nerello Mascalese. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, June 2018)
